The Canon S90 is at the top of an eWeek list of the best cameras to buy this holiday season. I’ve been intrigued by the S90 myself, as my Canon G9 stopped working suddenly—I’m about to send it off to Canon—and I’ve been wondering whether a camera that’s a bit more lightweight might be in order.
But some other nice ones make the eWeek list, including the Pentax Optio W80 and the Canon G11, the successor to the G9.
But the Canon S90 sounds pretty great, from the reviews I’ve read. Here’s what eWeek says:
This camera features optical image stabilization, smile mode and face detection technology as well as a compact design, which makes it easy to carry around everywhere. A 3-inch PureColor System LCD display helps you to see what you’re shooting and a panorama mode with stitch assist lets you create impressive panoramic scenes.
