3 stylish netbooks under $350

 // PUBLISHED December 3, 2009

Netbooks have a way of looking, well, cramped and unappealing.

But they don't need to, and you can actually find netbooks out there with a look you'll actually like. And that's important with a netbook. Why? Because when you own a netbook personal computer, you will likely be using it in public, whether on the train, or at the airport, or at Starbucks. Yep, when it comes to netbooks, appearance matters.

Here are three top-rated netbooks with style.

  • 1Gateway LT2030u
    Think metallic red. Yep, the styling of this netbook will make an impression. Weighing less than 3 pounds, this netbook comes with Windows 7 pre-installed and features a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display. Other stats: up to 7 hours of battery life, a 250 GB hard drive, a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, three USB ports, and a 5-in-1 memory card reader.
  • 2Lenovo S10-2
    Is pink for you? If it is, then how about a Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 netbook, which weighs less then three pounds and includes a multi-touch touchpad, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and optimized audio output for headphones, an Intel N270 Atom Processor, and a 160 GB hard drive.
  • 3ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA
    Here’s the marketing schtick from ASUS: “Flawlessly smooth, the Eee PC 1005HA Seashell draws its inspiration from the curvature of an ocean seashell.” Which gets things just about right. This doesn’t have bright colors, but it does have a decidedly slick look—as well as 8.5 hours of batterly life, a 250 GB hard drive, and a webcam.

I have the Asus Eee and I looooooove the battery life. I was able to watch a whole season of Entourage and a movie on a single plane ride. Definitely helped as I was on a long 8 hr flight to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. I recharged the netbook and brought it to the top of the mountain in 8 days and still had good charge.

I definately prefer to buy a cheaper netbook and change it in two years as opposed to buying a more expensive laptop.

DELL also has 6 cell bateries which can last longer time. But you need to choose what is more important, - the longer battery or bigger weight of the laptop.

Well appearance does matter in your purchase of netbook, I like the Lenovo S10-2 as its weight is less than three pounds, sounds interesting. Its feminine look suits me, and other specifications are just what I am looking. Price is less than my budget so I would prefer to purchase it. sailboat model Thanks
