The Mississippi Review is doing its part to make the Web a more literary place. Much of the "literature" on the Internet is "literature" in name only. You can find classic literature (i.e., good stuff whose copyright has expired). There are also many marketing teasers (chapter 1 of a forthcoming novel). But there's a lot of garbage. A few literary journals are making forays into the online world to help provide higher-quality sources of contemporary literature. The Mississippi Review offers an eclectic mix of literature written by names you've heard (and many that you haven't), and articles about writing and those who write. |
