Here's podcasting for the masses. Odeo lets you create and share your own podcasts without having to install sophisticated audio software or fiddle with the intricacies of the technology known as RSS. (If you don't know already, podcasting is a way to create and subscribe to audio shows and then have them automatically downloaded to your computer.) At Odeo, you can find lots of podcasts, if you'd just like to listen, but you can also use Odeo Studio, a web-based application, to record podcasts. If you've ever used a tape recorder, with buttons for play, stop and record, then you should be able to master Odeo Studio. Will Odeo's podcasting tools suffice for the hardcore podcaster? Probably not. But if you're a blogger or someone else trying to get up a quick podcast, Odeo opens up a world of audio sharing for you. |
