The Brew Basement

Good beer is worth waiting for. Fermented grains have to ability to gain complexity in the bottle, just as fermented grapes do. So if you really like the flavor of beer, then take the time to let it get bigger and more flavorful in the bottle. The Brew Basement started when one man accidentally aged his favorite beer, Sierra Nevada’s Celebration Ale, and loved the result. The website keeps this spirit in mind and starts out with beer-aging basics: how to cellar your beer, where to cellar it, which beers will age well, and even who should cellar beer (patient people). Here you will also find experiments in beer cellaring, the newest science involved, and tons of recommendations and reviews (for instance, Alaskan Brewing’s Smoked Porter should age well). If you want to start a beer cellar in your basement, start with this blog.
