Photojojo provides tutorial on light painting

As a kid, I was obsessed with photography (still am, really), and one of my favorite things was to create photographic light sculptures by leaving the shutter open and then “painting” in the frame with a sparkler or flashlight.

But, as a Photojojo tutorial shows, you don’t even need an artificial light source. You can leave the shutter open and let moths—yes, moths—do the painting for you: “Long exposures make moth trails show up as squiggles of light in your night photos: like light painting with bugs!”

You will need a camera with enough manual features to leave the shutter open (the  Canon PowerShot G11 fits the bill), and also a tripod, like the awesome and cool  Gorillapod.
