The smart folks at J. Walter Thompson have an amusing video outlining ten trends for 2010: "In keeping with one of our trends for 2010—Visual Fluency, referring to the growing preference (and need) for a graphic synthesis of information vs. an avalanche of reading material—we’ve created an animation that encapsulates our 32-page report in less than two minutes."
The animation touches on some up-and-coming trends, including "location-based everything" and "trickle-up innovation."

Yep, you spend a lot of time online. No surprise there. According to a recent Harris Poll, those aged 30-39 spend the most time online (18 hours), followed by those aged 25-29 (17 hours) and 40-49 (17 hours).
According to Harris: "People's usage varies greatly; one in five (20%) of adult Internet users are online for only two hours or less a week while one in seven (14%) are spending 24 or more hours a week online."
And Internet usage is increasing quite a bit.
Facebook, smartphones, digital books... There aren't many surprises in a CNN list of the top 10 tech trends from 2009.
Associated Press writer Jocelyn Noveck has a fun, thought-provoking article, "50 things that changed our lives in the aughts." The list includes everything from blogs ("I blog, you blog, he blogs... How did we spend our time before blogging?") to yoga ("By the end of the decade, even Grandma could do downward-facing dogs on her Wii Fit"), and everything in between (cameras, foodies, Google, organic).
